5P can be defined as a methodology that consists of Identifying a problem, Planning a process, Designing the process and Training on the process to enhance performance and Increase profitability.

When there are problem areas in an organization, it is essential to identify them and study the processes involved deeply, map and document them and thereby design and implement a practical and functional process that improves and provides a complete turnaround. Now that there is clarity in the processes, the next step is training and implementation of the new process.

This action helps your people understand their role in that activity and how it contributes to the success of the overall initiative. Also it removes ambiguity on expectations from each employee by clearly defining what is expected of him/her during the process for various situations. This in turn will help you make your service delivery consistent and increase customer satisfaction levels.

The need for 5P

Everything finally boils down to people and their qualities. Finding the right personnel and creating that dream team for your company is a huge challenge in the present times. With Managers and Owners busy trying to make the business competitive and profitable, training unfortunately takes a back seat.

Most often employees are also not able to deliver because they are not clear of their roles and its expectations. Most of what they do on the job are learnt by watching their seniors. So a wrong process in place will have the ‘domino effect’ from one employee to the next. Moreover they are also unclear as to what level of  accountability they can take. Most of these issues are because of a gap in effective communication and lack of role clarity.
